We live among products brought to us by engineering, and I find it fascinating to design and engineer things that feel just right in place around us.
I’ve always been a curious person, and it lead me to many places, including being locked in a coach bus trunk. The logical next step was to start building them; I started surrounding myself with things I built. This website is in part to showcase the different things I engineered into life.
I have a very good understanding of a product’s development lifecycle; from ideation, through prototyping, to production. Overseeing and participating in such a process is my profession as well as my passion. I am experienced in CAD / CAM / DFM, Java / MATLAB / Arduino, as well as some circuitry design. I m also a light user of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects and Final Cut Pro X.
I am a student at Brown University as a recipient of the Korean Presidential Science Scholarship, where I am awarded $50,000 per year for four years.
Currently, I am back in Korea until April 2019 to serve my 21 months of mandatory military service, stationed at Camp Humphreys as part of the KATUSA Program. I will be reachable via e-mail or Facebook, although I cannot promise prompt replies.
Many of the things I build come from very simple ideas, more or less 'zaps' of ideas. As I enjoy turning those zaps into reality, I like calling this site 'Zaplab', a place where I engineer the zaps into life.
